The music teachers I've had throughout my career have had a significant impact on my development as an artist. As a sixth grader, I was persuaded by my band director to perform at a local competition in my hometown. This was my first time performing as a soloist, and ultimately the event that led to my career in music.
My approach to teaching stems from their guidance and includes fostering positive relationships with my students, motivating them to adopt a growth mindset, and taking time to explore different musical avenues. I aim to present the ways that music can connect communities, evoke emotions, and express each student's unique qualities. In each lesson, students will expand their creativity and recognize their overall personal growth.
